Canine Companions for Independence is actively looking for working professionals and students who could benefit from the skills of a Hearing Dog. Hearing Dogs are placed with individuals who are deaf/hard-of-hearing at no cost. Hearing Dogs are trained to alert their partners to key sounds by making physical contact with their partner. Hearing Dogs increase feelings of security  and confidence.

The National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) is the philanthropic arm of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA).  NCRA is a 23,000-member nonprofit organization representing the judicial reporting and captioning professions. Simple Solutions, our assistive technology store, has a variety of products that help individuals with a vision and/or hearing loss continue to be independent and active with family and friends. The Center allows individuals to try items before they purchase them. There are things available such as talking watches and magnification for those with a vision loss and listening devices and vibrating alarm clocks to assist someone with a hearing loss.
